Mandatory Classes For First Penance and First Communion:
Those baptized as infants in the Catholic Church who have reached about the second grade in school are usually prepared as a group in this parish each year for admittance to the Holy Communion in the Easter season. Making a good first confession (and hopefully getting in the good habit of frequent sacramental confession!) is part of the necessary preparation for receiving the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time in the Most Holy Eucharist. A series of preparatory classes (preceded by a light supper) will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning January 13, 2010. All these classes will be held in conjunction with our year-long, ongoing series of free, weekly, parish suppers and classes for people of all ages in Catholic belief and practice that begin on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 and run through May 19, 2010.
